Jared, a student at Cactus Valley Elementary, is stepping up to the plate to make sure his school
saves energy. During writing class, Jared noticed the sun shining brightly outside and said, "Hey, do
we need the lights on right now, Mrs. Keesee? Couldn't we turn them off and open the blinds a little
more?" The rest of the class agreed. Two students moved nearer to the window, and they all worked in
natural light the rest of the day! Way to go, Jared!
