ENERGY STAR is a joint program of the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and the U.S. Department of Energy. Their goal is to help homes and businesses save money and protect the environment through the use of energy efficient products and practices. Homes, buildings and household products can earn the ENERGY STAR by meeting strict efficiency guidelines. The ENERGY STAR program offers tools, resources and strategies for homes and businesses to manage their energy well.
The mission of the NEED Project is to promote an energy conscious and educated society by creating effective networks of students, educators, business, government and community leaders to design and deliver objective, multi-sided energy education programs. NEED works with energy companies, agencies and organizations to bring balanced energy programs to the nation's schools with a focus on strong teacher professional development, timely and balanced curriculum materials, signature program capabilities and turn-key program management.
The mission of the National Energy Foundation is to cultivate and promote an energy literate society. In order to achieve their important mission, National Energy Foundation will:
- Develop, produce, and provide cost-effective and affordable supplementary instructional materials about natural resources to aid educators and administrators in the teaching process
- Conduct a wide variety of motivational teacher, employee, and student educational training programs
- Provide teachers and students with incentives to participate more intensely in the teaching and learning process
- Provide opportunities for businesses, associations, government agencies, and the education community to participate in the improvement and enhancement of education
The Alliance to Save Energy promotes energy efficiency worldwide to achieve a healthier economy, a cleaner environment and greater energy security.
